Straight answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, email support@knoqknoq.com and a person will get back to you.

How do I send my first invoice?

Open the app and tap the plus button. You've got two ways in: point the camera at your job notes or paper invoice and KnoqKnoq turns them into a clean invoice, or type it in yourself. Add your client's name and number, a line item or two, and a due date. Check the preview, hit Send, and it goes out by text and email.

That's it. Most contractors send their first one in under a minute, from the truck, before pulling out of the driveway. You don't need to set anything up first.

How do the AI follow-ups work?

When an invoice needs a nudge, coming up on its due date, just went overdue, or has been sitting a week, KnoqKnoq drafts the reminder for you. It reads the invoice and the conversation so far and writes the message the way you'd write it: professional, direct, not robotic and not pushy.

On the free plan, you approve every message before it sends. The draft shows up, you read it, you can edit it, and nothing goes out until you tap Approve. On paid plans you can turn on auto-send once you trust it, and every message still shows up in the invoice timeline.

Every message identifies your business. Your client always knows who's asking to get paid, because it's you.

What payment methods can my clients use?

On paid plans, clients can pay by card or bank transfer (ACH) right from the invoice link. Card processing is 2.9% + $0.30 on Solo, with lower rates on Pro and Team. ACH runs 0.9%, capped at $8, which is usually the cheap way to take a big job payment.

On the free plan, invoices include your payment instructions instead, so clients can pay you by check, Venmo, or Zelle like they already do. Either way, you mark it paid (or KnoqKnoq marks it automatically when the payment comes through us) and the follow-ups stop on their own.

What does my client see when I send an invoice?

They get a text (and email, if you added one) with a link to their invoice. No app to download, no account to create, no password. The page shows your business name and logo, the work, the amount, the due date, and a pay button if you take payments through KnoqKnoq. They can download a PDF copy for their records.

When they open it, you see "Viewed" in your timeline. No more wondering if it went to spam.

What if a client doesn't want text messages?

They reply STOP. That's the whole process. The moment a client texts STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT), KnoqKnoq stops texting that number, immediately and for good. You'll see it in the invoice timeline, and you can still reach them by email or a plain old phone call.

This isn't optional and there's no override, for your protection as much as theirs. Texting rules carry real penalties, and KnoqKnoq keeps you on the right side of them. Messages also only go out between 8am and 9pm in your client's time zone.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings, then Delete Account. Your data is removed 30 days later (the delay is there so you can undo an accidental delete). Records of payments processed through KnoqKnoq are kept for 7 years because tax rules require it. You can also email support@knoqknoq.com and we'll take care of it.

If you're on a paid plan, cancel your subscription first so you don't get billed again. That's in Settings too.
